Buffet vom ... besonders gut.
Meine Gedanken schweifen

A Xmas Story or thoughts
in Advent
Xmas is the fiest of love, the silence, the
hectic, the stress and the fight for the last piece of a special offer.
You qickly run to buy just something for the aunt, the niece and the
brother because you cannot be without a present. The children have to make
something for he grandparents and not to forget – to learn the second
verse of silent night, holy night by
heart. They have to practise again and again the Xmas song played on the
flute, piano or another instrument. At the moment those songs do not at
all sound like a Xmas song.
Then there are all the Xmas parties and you
should be present. Furthermore the buffet from ..... is extraordinary
good. Oh dear me, there are another two Birthdays, thats a nightmare in
December. What Birthdaypresent should you give – just a few days before
Christmas.
It seems to be a little too much for me. I
would like to be far away – just like last year. We have been in sunny
Florida and we had 25° C and were sitting under the Christmas tree with
summer clothes and barefeet. It was just fantastic to feel the sun in
winter and it was recovery too. Silvester time in Disney land – all that
were fantastic events which we would not miss. I would like to be there
again and to just lay under the sun.
But then again I remember the Christmas
feelings I had those times. We were lying in the sun and took care that
the sun won’t burn us. And sometimes in between we were thinking that in
a few days it will be Christmas. Everything was shining in the shops and
Christmas songs all over the place though you are going shopping in shorts
and everybody is wishing you a merry Christmas and it sounds just absurd.
Where is the snow, the cold noses and hands of children with red cheaks. I
missed the Christmas market, the smell of the fir tree and hot baked
apples. Our Austrian Christmas songs did not fit at all being heard in the
warm palm gardens and I missed the bass of my grandfather and the sound of
the guitarre of my brother. Where are the shining childrens eyes of our
nieces and nephews waiting that the bell rings and they finally know it is
Christmas and they will get their presents.
I believe that without all these traditional feelings it is
not a real Christmas time and I am happy to have the traditional Christmas
Stress here in Austria again this year. But must it be always stress? I
think no, I will now go and have a little Christmas on my own – I take
my dog and my horse and will ride through the white woods. This is
Christmas. Peace and silence in nature. For me it seems like a fairytale
but then again I hear the noice of the streets and machines and bring me
back to reality. But all this noice cannot take away the feelings I have
and I look forward to celebrating Christmas with my family. Everybody will
find his own Christmas feelings if you just take your time to think a
little about it – it doesn’t even have to be the 24 of December.
